Mailing list

There is a mailing list for SWI-Prolog specific issues. This list is used for announcing new releases, ports, etc. Users may use this forum to discuss porting problems and SWI-Prolog specific questions. Please use other media, such as the newsgroup comp.lang.prolog. for general Prolog questions.

To post to the SWI-Prolog mailing list, send mail to prolog@science.uva.nl. Only registered users can post to this address.

You can register to the SWI-Prolog mailing list by sending a plaintext mail to majordomo@science.uva.nl with the following body

subscribe prolog

The SWI-Prolog mailing list is powered by Majordomo, which is controlled entirely using E-mail messages to majordomo@science.uva.nl. To get help, send a message to this address with a body that only contains the word help.

An archive of the SWI-Prolog mailing list is maintained using HyperMail. To search the list, either use Nabble or any search engine where you combine your query with SWIPL.

The mailinglist is mirrored by Nabble. You can use Nabble as an alternative for browsing and searching old messages, use its RSS feed or post messages from Nabble.

Please note that due to organisational problems archiving has not worked between october 22 2004 and january 29, 2005.

The collaborative (twiki) web

The mailing list is a place for unorganised communication. Although it is archived, it is not a good place to collect FAQs, share pieces of code, have a structured discussion, etc. For this we have founded a `twiki' clone. This is a web-page, but every page has an edit button that allows you to modify it or add new topics.

All it needs is 5 minutes learning and using almost any webbrowser you can start and share your own topics and code in an organised manner.

The Bugzilla bugtracking system

Bugs are best reported to and tracked through the Bugzilla system. This internet based tool provides a structured way to enter, track and find bugs and their patches.
