About the 5.6.x release

The 5.6.x release consolidates the 5.5.x development stream started in 2004. Highlights:

• UNICODE character set support
• Unbounded integer and rational numbers
• New and faster CHR release
• Added clp(r) constraints over reals and clp(q) constraints over rationals
• Added clp(fd) constraints over finite domains
• Many enhancements to the web and notably sematic web libraries
• PlDoc: source-documentation system. We run a server serving the manuals and system libraries
• PlUnit: a testing framework.
• Much more ...

Development of version 5.7.x has been started on the GIT branch V57X. Version 5.6.x is on the GIT master branch.

The Beta download page contains frequent snapshots of the development branch.
